Charles Rapp collection : letters, 1874-1878. 1874-1878.

Charles Rapp came to Wyoming from New York State during Wyoming's short-lived gold rush period. His 15 letters, written mainly to Eva Shepard (a young woman from his hometown), describe life in 1870's Wyoming, mostly in mining camps. Topics discussed include relations with Indians, the Battle of the Little Bighorn, his homesickness, and the goings on at his home in New York.
